For almost all of my life, I've worked and taken care of people. I started working at age 13 as a bus boy in my uncle's Chinese restaurant. I worked each summer, and I had chores at home and the odd job that I did to earn extra money throughout the year. I worked through university and law school. After getting married and having children, I worked as an attorney during the day and came home to kids and the full scope of responsibilities, from cooking to cleaning and changing diapers.

When I got divorced, I continued to work as an attorney in my own practice and was the primary caregiver for my two young children, one of whom has special needs.

Now that my kids are adults, I find myself in the "sandwich generation". I am still working full time as an attorney while assisting my 90+ year old mother several times a week and my son, who needs assistance with financial and lifestyle management tasks on a regular basis. Easing their burdens in life gives me peace over their wellbeing. It also gives me a greater understanding as I work with my clients to guide them through their legal challenges.
